Gift Rescue's  One-to-One™ system allows for the definition of a network of questions and answers to be attached a set of gifts in order to allow an automated dialoge to take place between the system and the consumer.

This dialogue is multi-modal in that simple questions can be answered by clicking buttons, while the answers to more difficult questions can be typed.

This system has many advantages for the retailer:

• Allows retailers to interact with potential customers in a way that offers many of the benefits of person to person communication without the associated costs.

• Allows consumers to cut the time it takes to select and acquire a gift.

• Avoids having consumers deal with overwhelmingly large lists of products, crude product classifications and the use of crude keyword search as the primary means of finding gifts.

• Provides the consumner with a clear rationale for the gift and a humorous message for the card.
